Inspiration

Fleas are so compelling to me because they provide endless amounts of inspiration.  The rickety chair that could be transformed into a throne; the oddball bits that become a collection; the whimsy that a giant, tattered piece could bring to your home if it were just hung right above the fireplace . . . .  But really, inspiration is all around.  On a walk from my office in the FiDi of San Franicsco to Union Square and Market Street on this rare, gorgeous day, I was struck by how many things, well, struck me.  Giant bottles of perfume in store windows, the ever glittery and fabulous display at Torso vintage, the stained glass rotunda at Neiman Marcus, my new obsession with herringbone wood floors (at Juicy Couture of all places) and old obsession with shagreen, and on and on.  Scroll down to for a few photos of those - and I promise to work on my photography skills - and of some other recent things, places, dishes and more that are in and of themselves reasons to be happy.
